Our Wedding

April 29, 2017 was the most perfect and special day ever!! I wanted to do a post to share some photos and details from our special day. We were married in Santa Rosa Beach, FL in the most perfect little white chapel. I've know for a while that I wanted to get married at the beach, just not on the beach. I have to give 100% credit to my Mom for finding the most perfect place after days of scouting locations at the beach while I was home in Birmingham. My Mom was also my amazing wedding planner. At first I wasn't sure what I wanted for anything except I knew I wanted pink shoes. We got extremely lucky with my dress finding it at the first place we went. I've said it a ton, but it wasn't anything I ever knew I wanted until I tried it on. I found out at my first fitting that it was also featured on one of my favorite TV shows Scandal. After searching Pinterest for a few months I finally made the flower, cake, and bridesmaid dress decisions. I wanted lots of pink, but I also wanted to keep thing simple. I only wanted roses and peonies used and I was also very adamant there would be no greenery or baby's breath in the arrangements. It was so amazing to walk into the chapel and reception on Saturday and see my vision 100% came to life!!

We just had the best weekend with guests starting to arrive the Thursday prior to the wedding. I was able to spend a girls day at the beach with some of my besties before our rehearsal and dinner on Friday. My husband's family threw us the most wonderful rehearsal dinner Friday night. We had special toasts, amazing food, and lots of wine, tears, and laughter.

Saturday morning I woke up really really early with butterflies in my stomach. I couldn't believe the day was finally here. It wasn't until I was able to speak to my husband on the phone that I was able to calm my nerves and enjoy my day. We had a low key day just like I wanted. We enjoyed mimosas and bloody marys with friends late morning and then I was able to relax and get ready the rest of the day. I chose to do my own hair and makeup because I wanted to look like me on our day and I'm also super picky and would've ended up re-doing it myself anyway. We chose to do a first look and photos prior to the ceremony so we could go immediately to the reception to party with friends and family. Our reception was so much fun from the second we walked in. We both wanted to make sure each guest that took time and money to travel to be there had the best time ever. We danced the entire time until I finally had to lose my shoes and be barefoot. This day is definitely a day I'll never forget for so many reasons and I hope you all enjoy the photos and reading about our special day!!
